Navigating womanhood in a patriarchal society brings forth numerous challenges and struggles that I may not personally encounter, but are deeply felt by the many women in my life. "Womanhood Is" is a visual series aimed at shedding light on the unique struggles that women face in the context of urban life. Through carefully staged photos, each subject is adorned in attire reminiscent of historical periods, creating a visual narrative that communicates the feeling of being ensnared in a society that often overlooks or disregards the experiences of women.

The deliberate use of historical outfits serves as a symbolic representation, illustrating the enduring nature of challenges faced by women across time. By capturing these moments in a contemporary rural setting, the series aims to bridge the gap between the past and present, emphasizing the persistent struggles that women encounter in their daily lives.

Through my lens, I seek to evoke a sense of empathy and understanding, prompting viewers to reflect on the societal structures that contribute to the challenges faced by women. "Womanhood Is" becomes a visual dialogue, not only capturing the struggles but also igniting conversations about the need for societal change and the importance of advocating for the rights and well-being of women in our communities.
